Christmas 2010

Wow I can't believe that it is a year since I last posted on my blog.

Well here is my Christmas newsletter for 2010.

As usual I have not managed to get my Christmas letter out prior to Christmas and this year I have not sent a single Christmas card. I had a look at my blog yesterday and the last entry was my Christmas 2009 newsletter.

This year has not been overly eventful.

Dave and I have spent the year mowing. The business has grown enormously and we are unable to handle the work ourselves during the summer months. Fortunately one of Dave’s mates finished up work to do some studying so he has been coming 1 to 2 days a week to give us a hand. The current record is 19 lawns push mowed in a day. I did relief teaching at the Christian College during the winter which helps with the financial side of things when the mowing slows down.
Patrick finished up at Hungry Jacks and has been coming mowing with us. He is enrolled for next year in a Pre Apprenticeship Course in Automotive at TAFE. He got his Learners in October so we are busy trying to give him lots of opportunities to drive.

Nicholas has finished Year 9. We are not sure at this stage where he is going to school next year. He spent the last 4 weeks of this year being home schooled because he made a police statement about an attack that he witnessed and the attackers now want to kill him making it unsafe for him to attend school. Nich has become a bit of a hermit.

We went to Vietnam in May with Dave’s sister’s family and his sister’s husband’s family. We only did the southern half of Vietnam but the scenery, culture and food were amazing. Would love to go back and do the top half.

We moved mid year and now rent a Queenslander on the river (you can’t actually see it) with a pool and a separate room with bathroom underneath for Patrick. It is very easy to get the work trailer into and out of which was the major problem with our last rental.

Health wise we had a bit of a scare during the year with the GP telling Dave that he thought Dave had bowel cancer. After much waiting and a large amount of money to have the tests done privately we were very relieve to find that he didn’t have cancer. Otherwise we are all well.
Hope to do some travelling again this winter. Not sure where yet will depend on how good a summer we have.

Hope this finds you all well and that I am able to make contact with you before next Christmas rolls around.
